Live Blog 2
How to not conduct an interview by the film lab. Once you start, don't get distracted. Don't do an interview without a background. Do practice interviews beforehand. Ask specific questions and not broad ones. Don't wing it and have the questions prepared. Respect the subject. yes or no questions aren't good ones for an interview. "and then what happened, what happened next". Don't ever interrupt the client. Keep the subject looking at you and not the camera. Remnant lighting can be really harsh and bright. Rule of 3rds. Diffuse the light source, want to flatter the subjects. Sitting across from the subject is the one asking the questions. Nose room, head room, Don't cut off the chin, you can cut off the head. Watch the hands so that there in the shot instead of popping in and out of it. Background says as much about subject as the subject does.

Live Blog on Lib Guides
Graphics are very important as well as conveying the idea of what the guides represent. Visually appealing as well as the text correlates with the image. Acknowledging the QR code and letting the viewer's know that it will take you straight to the online Library guides. All the guides do not convey what the library guides are trying to represent. So a more accurate representation of library uses. Library guides need to be more accurate in what each section of the library guides is about. More of one stop shopping for your resources in each topic area. The color contrasts such as the white on yellow, or yellow on white has a bad visual understanding. The athletic training with the knee is a good graphic, and the wording is almost correct, but needs to be just a touch more spot on. Grammatical errors in some of the flyers, need to be spell checked. More precise with a bit more punch to being accurately connecting the information and the images. More of a universal theme for all students rather than just isolation one section. So that they students view all subject areas. Extended campus, internet courses as a whole for those students who are onsite or online. There is one place that any student can go to access all the needs in each subject to be guided through the library. Access all subject at your finger tips using the QR code. Acknowledge the power the QR code has and what it actually does to represent the library guides accurately. Communicating to an audience through their language even if you don't speak it to create an understanding.

Anthropological Introduction to youtube
Youtube showing viral videos and how we connect through this website that isn't meant to overrun peoples lives, but yet it shows the lives of everyone all over the world.
Numa Numa went viral especially when one guy decided to let go and feel free amongst himself.
People to people can connect and communicate and interact easier due to youtube along with other websites that are public.
Anyone can achieve the success of a viral video if promoted properly.
15% of all videos on youtube are actually remakes of other videos.
Almost 10,000 of the 200,000 videos on youtube are addressed to the youtube community itself.
Participant observation is joining the phenomenon.
Invisible audience phenomenon. The audience is unknown due to just speaking to a camera. The idea is that the video being created or your image and words could be remade and manipulated.
1st video blogs tend to me one that people blank out, feel nervous and unsure due to the fact we speak to an inanimate object

Granberry Museum
We visited the museum of technology from our past to present and even ideas of the future. How technology has come a long way in the last century and has created a simpler life. The piece that fascinated me the most was the wireless record player from 1929. You tune your radio to the setting or station of the player and the player would then play wireless through your radio. The technology is exactly the same as that of Bluetooth or Ipods that play in cars through stations. The idea had already been created, just was never used for about 75 years later! Shows how even technology can learn from its past.

Pecha Kucha Night in Greenville SC
The night was a Tuesday night. This Tuesday wasn't like any ordinary Greenville Tuesday night. For this night was a Pecha Kucha Night! This night became a short lived yet extremely eye opening experience. There were 5 separate presenters about various personal interests.
The first was "the most influential man" speaking about how to persuade and influence others for the better good and not bad. As we all know 5 year old's have the power to do.
The second was a very sophisticated man who spoke of ancient times of music and how its perfection related to that of a perfectly proportional person or angel. Then he spent the last minute of his 400 second presentation playing the instrument.
The 3rd was a very nervous lady yet the most passionate about her topic. She was a local farmer for produce and plants.
Then the teenage duo spoke of Social impact or media to improve our overall economy and society. They spoke of fashion as well as proper etiquette to interact with other teens to improve ones wellness.
The last was the most interesting of all and unique. The man was a Doodler. He would doodle all over everything, from zombies fight robots to dragons and dinosaurs. Showed several different pages of his own work and how doodling is an art form.
All in all the overall presentation was a short Pecha Kucha Night that was broad and educational as well as fun.

Am I the only one?!
Today in a class that is a basic level math class.
There are 25-30 students ranging in age from 18-lower 30's. A pop quiz
is put up on the board at the end of class. Covering 4 questions from
that day's topics which meant an easy A if those were paying attention
and a bonus just in case you missed one. We had 12 minutes to take this
pop quiz for that was the remaining time in the course, so no rush was
apparent. Grades in the class are prob an average C due to those he
calls out after he has finished grading the tests of a C or better. This
bonus question had little to do with the topics of the day, however was
a critical thinking question without the seriously critical part. The
question goes as follows "A basket is full after 30 minutes. After each
minute the basket doubles its eggs. For example 1st minute one egg, 2nd
minute 2 eggs, 3rd minute 4 eggs and so on. The question was that if
full at 30 minutes, when was the basket half full?" Once everyone
finished we turned it in and had 3 minutes left to go over the
questions. He went over the first four and was surprised to the bummed
reactions of my fellow peers. I got 3 correct and was anxious for the
bonus' answer. He asked allowed the question and everyone was silent.
Someone said 15, he responded incorrect. Thus I spoke my answer of 29.
He said correct! I then looked around and asked didn't anyone else put
29? Hoping I wasn't the only one. Then I realized that in today's time
that that simple mere question may show that common smarts or critical
thinking may have diminished. Yes this was a pop quiz and the bonus was a
trick question. However no one decided to give it that few extra
seconds of thought. Do we jump to conclusions and just guess if we don't
know in the first 10 seconds after reading something? Do we decide to
be wrong to get by? Just a thought, if you said 29 before reading my
answers then maybe I am not the only one...

Semiotics or Truth?
Semiotics are
signs or new media telling you something through words or an image to
represent the actual word or image trying to be displayed. For example a
Pipe image and underneath saying "this is not a pipe", The wording is
in fact true! The validation of a pipe is a actual pipe in ones hand.
Not a picture of a pipe, or a picture of a picture of a pipe or even a
painting of a pipe. A video or image of something doesn't represent that
thing but rather replicate its visual simulation or stimuli.

Blog Conventions and Best Practices
The Everyday Carry is a blog about regular people and their everyday carry's. The things they bring with them everyday. The necessities on hand for survival so to speak. It is written by those that post the picture of their individual items and the reason for them. The reader is someone who may be interested to see what he or she isn't carrying that would help benefit themselves also. The language is English because it is the most universal towards the readers interested. The look of the blog is a very calm yet stylish to the point to keep the interest of the viewer. The average post is about a paragraph or two long and easy to read.
The A Hamburger Today is a blog about hamburgers from different places. It shows burgers that are healthy for you, bad for you, and taste better or worse for the price. Fun facts and places to eat and enjoy a different tasting burger a day. Robyn Lee posts the majority of the posts on this blog. Several others post similar finds of the best burgers around. The reader is anyone interested in a tasty treat or healthy find of burger. English is used because the locations are all in North America. The look is one with several visuals to appeal to ones appetite and intrigue the reader to want to try one of the burgers. The posts are no longer than a half page including the images to describe such meals. The vocabulary is a very descriptive one to lure the reader in to the detail of the burgers.

Kevin Kelly & Lecture Material
Over time several different styles of communication have been established both in personal and in economical ways. Some are difficult at first as each time creates a new format in which people read from something other than their own thoughts. At first there was the Word. This was mainly just handwritten pieces of paper or tablet that could be presented to scribes or those of a higher caliber who could read such words.Once words became very well known and the majority of people could read or acquire such informational forms of it, then printed pages were created. This made things more clear and legible for a more universal text to be understood and mass produced. Usually in the format of paper to create books etc. Then these pages were applied to the screen of the modern new age of technology. These words that became print could now be typed and viewed through a screen or monitor presented before anyone who had television. This broadcast media quickly developed into several quicker and uniquely sized pieces of art such as an Tablet, or Phone, or Laptop. The new media has revolutionized the Word to fit any language, text, font, or even location in a blink of an eye.

Blog One, the Question
What is your experience with Digital Media?
My experience with Digital Media is a bit above par but not by much. Most people consider surfing the web, owning a Facebook account, and knowing how to buy things online an average knowledge of digital media. I know the basics and then certain side knowledge such as Graphic Design and Computer Formatting. The Graphic Design aspect ranges mainly in photo shop and how to manipulate images or create ones from scratch. Computer formatting is just a general knowledge of kb/s-tb/s and how to format NTFS to FAT32 and so on with the process of downloading and converting.

The Long Tail SmarterComics
This sample comic shows the contrast between life in the 70's and 80's versus life today. The examples are how a teen would occupy his or her free time back then against today's. Back then movies, music, and television were very popular as are today, however back then singles, albums, shows and movies all had exceptionally high ratings. Since today's world a teenager can access over 200 channels, download music and movies for free and share instantly with his or her friends, the attention span of today's youth has greatly diminished in comparison from those of the past few decades. The Long Tail is the title of this comic that shows great uniqueness between past and present.
